The Spirit of Man

Back

What is within the fabric of a man,

Something more than when he began.

Loyalty and determined he may have displayed,

And power and strength like grass soon fade.

A man may plot out out his course within his heart,

But it is a treacherous friend, cruel to chart.

There are those that would scheme and conspire,

But their end will be worse than what they acquire.

What shall we do to right the wrongs,

To stop the agony that prolongs.

Forgive and forget all their error,

The spirit you display reveals the bearer.

There is one that can search the heart,

From his ways do not depart.

To give each one according to his ways,

So praise that one all your Days.
