Poem Title

Rescue at Sea

Back

Thru the spray I watch as my love rises high,

Rescued I thank as a harness to me they tie.

I now rise, pulled through the open door,

See my love lifeless on the chopper floor.

Her heart they do tell me say,

As we fly from the scene away.

Descend please to the surface is what I ask,

Tethered together is their mournful task.

Bound together, I know we go to our graves,

Thumbs up, as we slip beneath waves.

As we descend I feel her body's warmth toward me flow,

Its dark now as my heart sees the depths below.

Now forever by her side,

Not alone in death, for she was my bride.
